Sen. Rafiu congratulates Saraki on WHO appointment


Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim has described the appointment of Mrs Toyin Ojora Saraki as WHO Foundation Ambassador for Global Health as a product of hardwork, dedication and humanitarian effort.


He also lauded her for doing Nigeria proud by being the first person to be appointed into the enviable global position.


WHO Foundation announced on Thursday, the appointment of Her Excellency, Toyin Ojora Saraki as WHO Foundation Ambassador for Global Health.


In a congratulatory statement issued after the announcement on Thursday, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim said he was personally delighted that Mrs Saraki's sacrifices and efforts over the years paid off.


He also expressed excitement that the global health body was meticulous enough to identify the round peg for the round hole.


He corroborated the words of WHO, describing her as "highly esteemed global advocate with decades of work dedicated to women’s and children’s health and empowerment, ending gender-based violence, and improving lives in sub-Saharan Africa."

The Senator who represented Kwara South Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly said the appointment will only buoy Mrs Saraki’s unwavering

commitment towards improving global health through her advocacy work.


Senator Rafiu Ibrahim who represented Kwara South in the 8th National Assembly also applauded her husband, and immediate Past President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for the support given to Mrs Saraki to excel in her service to humanity.

While wishing Mrs Saraki well in her new global assignment, the Senator expressed confidence in her ability to make a critical difference to global health initiatives and help the world achieve the Triple Billion Initiative targets by 2023.
