Omar Bolaji Gambari Condemns Nuku’s Senseless Killings, Commiserates with Victims
Omar Bolaji Gambari has condemned the recent killings in Nuku, a community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing the incident as deeply distressing and a tragic loss to the state.
In a statement, Gambari expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the forest guards and other personnel who lost their lives in what he described as a senseless bandits’ ambush. He noted that the fallen officers paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, adding that their sacrifice would not be forgotten.
He also extended his sympathy to the people of Nuku and the wider Kaiama community, acknowledging the pain and grief caused by the loss of innocent lives.
Describing the attack as a difficult moment for the state, Gambari said the incident underscores the fragile nature of peace and the urgent need to strengthen security across communities in Kwara.
“The security and protection of every Kwaran must remain a top priority,” he stated, calling for collective efforts to build a safer, more stable, and inclusive society where lives and property are adequately protected.
He further emphasized the need for responsive and responsible leadership that prioritizes the welfare and safety of all citizens without bias.
Gambari concluded by praying for the repose of the souls of the departed and for strength for their families to bear the irreparable loss.
