Complete or Open Tanke Bridge, total closure puts the community at risk of fire incident

On Sobi FM, Alhaji Abdulkareem Sanni has called on the Kwara State Government to hasten the completion of the bridge or compel contractors to open a portion of the bridge as complete closure endangers Tanke community.

Alhaji Sanni who is a member of Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria and Managing Director of Sanrab Petrol Station made the call on behalf of other 13 petrol stations located along the University road.

Speaking on the imminent danger looming, he advocated that the State Government should take immediate action to avoid any catastrophy ahead. While lamenting that loaded petrol tankers at times get stuck in gutters due to the narrowness of the alternative routes into the University road.

He reiterated that opening a portion of the road, especially for petrol tankers is crucial to the safety of Tanke Community.

Recall that Kwara State Government has on many occasions adjusted the opening date for the road and completion of the bridge.  Now spanning over two years, residents remain curious on what could be delaying the completion of the project.

It is also interesting to note that experts have called on the State Government to charge the contractor and review construction process of the bridge to avoid any future threat the shaddy job done will pose to users of the facility.
