Bolaji Abdullahi earned my sympathy the day I knew he was contesting for a political position in Kwara Central. It's interesting and disturbing, but it raised a major concern with the current political atmosphere. I know Bolaji Abdullahi as a gifted writer who has written impressively on the art of capturing and recapturing power. If he hasn't dissociated from his "On a Platter of Gold."
The ruling party wants to dampen the Central's cause by axing qualities from within for money-oriented political philosophers. I thought the Central would be picking between a pink and a mauve, but they want to raise a towering fortress without digging deep.
The complicated absurdity is weaponizing poverty, of course, people now find it difficult to differentiate between being a philanthropist and being a lawmaker with qualities of representational politics.
The Central is thus in a state of chaos, and there's a gesture that changes the mind. From the calibre of medical practitioners with comprehensive CVs to those who cannot couple a BSc result. The Central is being disturbed; it's so hard to differentiate between temporary satisfaction and the grandeur of long-lasting excellence in quality of living. It's an illusion that threatens the best philosopher in the block.
