Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu Reiterates Commitment to Youth Development at Opening Ceremony of Kiyaru Unity Cup

On Sunday 21st of August, the PDP Senatorial Candidate for Kwara North, *Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu* reiterated his commitment to youth development at the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of Kiyaru unity cup at Kaima local government, Kwara North. 


Kiyaru Unity Cup is a football competition hosted yearly by the wife of Hon. Isa Bawa, *Hajia Mariam Bawa* to galvanize the potentials of youths in the area of sport development and also fostering unity within the community by providing a platform through which members of several communities in Kwara North can converge as a form of recreation and entertainment. 






*Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu* who was represented at the ceremony by the PDP candidate for state house of assembly, Hon. Adamu B Yakub, noted that he's not just a people focused leader but also a community development expert hence, he observed that often times when leaders talk about youth empowerment, it's usually limited to provision of white collar job opportunities, financial/material support for skilled and unskilled workers while leaving behind the talented demography of youths who wish to pursue their passion in sports. Kiyaru unity cup was birthed in order to ensure that no one is left behind in his agenda for youths. 


Through Kiyaru cup, the youths in Kwara North are not just provided a platform to pursue their passion, they also develop their talents through competition among the best within the community while also getting financial incentives for it. 


It was also gathered that at the 4th edition of the competition, *Hon. Isa Bawa* leveraged on his network of contacts to invite officials from the National football team to not only scout for talents but their presence earned four players from the community an invitation to the National team camp which provided them an opportunity to compete for a chance at the national team, thanks to the sponsorship they got from *Hon. Isa Bawa*


While none of the players made the final cut to the national team, they noted that it was a big break not only for their personal careers but also the community as more footballers within Kwara North are motivated to persevere and not give up on their passion thanks to the push from *Hon. Isa Bawa*.


Conclusively, *Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu* gave his assurances to the youths that if elected as the Senator representing Kwara North at the national assembly, Kiyaru unity cup will not only continue but he'll further use the opportunity as a senator to ensure that the youths within the community are given the best possible support to pursue their dreams.
